I've recently watched the new Sailor Moon, the new re-mastered version. I know. It has been out since 2014, and yes, I'm just NOW giving it a watch. There has been so much going on, so much drama. I haven't even been able to post on here for a long time.
But I'm still around, and will be updating as I watch more anime. Lately, I've dropped the horror phase for more POSITIVE material, so you may be relieved to know that. XD
Sailor Moon is celebrating it's 20th Anniversary, and now I officially feel old. I'm only 24.5, but already I feel like time has flown so fast. I'm trying to enjoy my youth as loooonnng as I possibly can.
It lightens my mood a bit to see Sailor Moon return.
This new version is called Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal. This version is probably noticeably different to most of us fans of the 1990s series. The new version is meant to be more true to the manga.
My thoughts on the new re-mastered Sailor Moon? Uhh...Well, it feels a little different. The animation is more refined, that's for certain. In some ways, the new version is not quite as "exaggerated" as the 1990's version...And thus, not as entertaining. I get the feeling it will be more standard Shoujo and serious...But I can't deny the fact that I'm interested. I mean, this is more like the original story-telling. Still, my nostalgia glasses can't allow me to enjoy the new version fully. I guess I'm looking for some nod towards the old anime...At least bring in the old opening with a modern-day twist...
It's not the I don't like the new one, but if something isn't broken...Why fix it?
Cute High Earth Defense Club Love
This anime is new...And it's a Henshin anime with BOYS as the main character. And they just don't transform, oh no, they transform into cute, cuddly, adorable saviors. Much like you would see from Precure or Sailor Moon. I was shocked, but intrigued. Finally, gender boundaries are breaking. I really, really want to see this! I know people are going to be so judgmental and so closed-minded, but I am not one of them.
