School of Darkness 5/10
Animejournal is back guys and this time I'm reviewing a new anime again-Yay! If you remember I am on a quest to watch all animes in the horror genre, as many as possible until I am done with my own horror story. This is the next horror I watched for three seconds and quit.

Recently I just finished watching something called "School of Darkness". I will be discussing the story, the characters, and the anime design.
Story-There is not much to the story as it is just a three-episode anime. But from the three minutes into watching, you can already guess that this anime is a hentai and is heavily cashing in on sex. Not only are the plots/stories completely bland and ridiculous, but the story seems so out of touch. The anime really is just about sex. The plots aren't even worth mentioning.
One thing is certain, it delivered in the "horror" part. It's so completely highly "sexed" that it is horrible. Every sex scene is explicit and graphic and detailed. They don't hide sexual performances, sexual organs, and in fact enhance them to the point that is the only thing you think about when it is all over. The sex is the best part of this anime. Every other part of the story is one-dimensional and forgettable. But the graphic scenes you will NEVER EVER forget. This is for you sick-minded jokes. Whoever recommended this anime to me is SICK. You really need HELP. I mean if you love sex that much okay, but the story isn't even good and it is thrown together to make a horror story out of sex!
Story One
To the plot, the story begins with the raping of a woman who is a scientist, biologist, and teacher, to be exact. So a friend consoles her...in her own sexual way, leading to the friend sharing a mummified artifact that is in the shape of a penis. Later, the scientist teacher is raped with this object, making the object attach itself to her vaginal area and it completely takes over eating and absorbing the energy of the person she is having sexual intercourse with. She ends up killing people with this 'mummified vagina'.
Story Two
This is about a group of people who go camping. Again, this is "sex camp", of course. To me, it's better than the first one in it's deliverance, but it's still a bit bland. The characters are more interesting and more distinct than the first, even if they are still a bit one-dimensional. They all go camping only to be a part of a plant scheme that is out to provide a nectar that increases the sexual appetite...This also gives the anime points. It's a bit better than the first one. The first one is utterly stupid to me.
Obviously, since this "mummified object" is the main source of the first plot, which looks like a penis, it is all going to be sexual. And the second one looks like a vagina, so yea, it's all about sex. The mummy thing is a stupid basis of a story. At least if you're going to make a story about sex it should have a better plot than that. "Videodrome" was a good example of being explicit and having an interesting story. This is a prime example of a thrown-together story only meant to sell sex. The story is meant to represent a lustful beast, a bit like a harlot, who uses her body and sexual prowess and ends up sucking the lives of her victims through her sexual prowess. It is truly a horror. The second story is more interesting to me. a plot about a plant that increases the sexual appetite is interesting, but again, the story is barely visible. It's as if it is an unnecessary part, though it's supposed to be the story!
Characters-In the first story, one-dimensional, no depth, just horny. The main character has a body that everybody wants (girls and boys), but very little to no character development. One is SUPPOSED to be a scientist, but I have yet to see her talk science for very long. Sex seems to be her game of science. The other characters serve no other purpose but to provide sex scenes. They have no personalities, just provide you with different positions...the only two characters that are virgins still have very predictable characters. Now the second story provides an interesting variety of personalities to fit each sexual performance, which to me is pretty creative, however, their connection to the story is distant to me.
In the second story, there are six main characters, and they all have their own sexual personalities, which I think is pretty unique. You have the slut, the shy lesbian, the boyish lesbian, and the cute and popular girl who more than likely is a virgin but likes to feel on herself. And then there is the sexy but graceful teacher and her jerk fiance.
Anime Design-It is obviously an older anime. It looks like a '90s one actually. The imagery is completely full of "nightmarish imagery" as animelist.net explains it. They don't hold back on the imagery and making it look as "red-hot" as they can make it.
Overall, after seeing this anime, it gets a 5/10. I deducted points from some of the horribly developed characters and the uncreative and predictable plot line. However, it delivers on the horror and at least in the other stories the characters were better. This will give you nightmares. I don't recommend this anime for children under the age of 18 years. This is not something your parents would approve of. You might have to wait until you're out of the house to watch this one. This anime isn't for the religious either. This anime isn't for the squeamish. It's for the horny, sex-loving, and porn loving people. You people can enjoy the scenes, though you might just have wished that they cut out the story and maybe forgot all about the characters. Everyone else, move on. It isn't worth it.
